Phone Repair Desk

This phone repair desk project was fitted into an electronics big-box store in Poland in 2018. The retailer wanted a repair and recycling point that could be found from the main aisle, take devices in and hand them back, and sell accessories without looking like a separate shop inside the store.

The desk was built as a U-shaped counter run of roughly 6 linear metres with a timber front and white glass top, three glass display cases, one repair bench with a lockable drawer bank and a raised shelf for tools, and one suspended cube sign of about 3 m × 1.2 m carrying four printed panels for repair, recycle and protect services.

The design works on two levels. At eye level the suspended cube is the landmark: it hangs over the desk and repeats the service message on all four faces, so shoppers can find the point from any aisle. At counter level the U-shape separates intake from collection, with the repair bench set at the back so devices are not handled in the customer zone. Timber front panels warm the unit against the store’s steel shelving, and 4000K lighting inside the glass cases keeps screens and accessories readable.

The counter ships in three sections with the glass cases and drawer bank fitted; the cube sign is delivered as a frame with printed panels and LED modules. On site the crew levels the sections, joins the U, fixes the sign to its own posts, and connects the case lighting and sign lighting to separate circuits. The desk stands on levelling feet and can be moved if the store re-plans the aisle. The cube sign ships flat-packed with its LED modules in a separate box, and its posts are set before the counter is finally levelled.

Customization includes counter length and depth, glass case count, drawer bank size, sign size and panel artwork, timber finish and lighting colour.
