Vape Showcase

A vape showcase programme delivered for a specialist vape shop in Canada in 2021, built around one long illuminated display wall rather than a scatter of bought-in units. The brief was narrow and clear: make the product read from the doorway, and keep the whole elevation on a single rhythm from the first bay to the last.

The wall is the entire store. Full-height steel-framed columns carry backlit translucent panels with adjustable product ledges set at three heights, so long hardware and boxed liquid sit on the same grid. Each bay is sealed with a slim black aluminium frame, and the light source sits behind the panel rather than above the shelf, which removes the shadow line that normally falls across the lower row.

Fittings are deliberately minimal. A black powder-coated outer frame, a satin inner reveal and a continuous capping rail are the only metal on show; everything else is light, panel and product. Because the panels are removable, a damaged face can be swapped without dismantling the bay, which matters in a store that runs twelve hours a day.

The programme also included a low glass counter at the entrance end and a set of lockable drawer plinths for stock, finished in the same black as the frame so the elevation still reads as one field. Drawings were approved before cutting, a pre-production sample was signed off inside two weeks, and the casework shipped flat-packed from Guangzhou with site assembly drawings.

Delivery ran on the standard factory sequence for custom casework: sample first, production second, crating third. Spare panel faces and frame corners were supplied with the consignment so the store could handle damage without a reorder.
