Makeup Shelf

A makeup shelf program delivered in Singapore in 2024, for a cosmetics retailer fitting a compact mall-floor unit. The brief called for a gold-frame makeup shelf scheme — slim brass open frames against marble backs, curved service tables and fluted plinths — all built whole-store from our Guangzhou workshop. Roughly fifty to eighty square metres.

The plan wraps three walls in slim gold open frames, each bay a stack of glass-edged shelves on a white marble back panel, so the stock reads as a run of thin gold rectangles rather than heavy cabinetry. An arched gold frame repeats the motif as a full-height mirror-shelf at the corner. A white curved service table on a gold cylinder base anchors the centre, ringed by fluted cylindrical plinths that lift hero lines off the floor, and soft grey poufs let customers sit to test.

Merchandising runs by category. Skincare and cosmetics face out on the gold shelves, one line per bay, in brand-order rows; minis and travel sizes group on the plinths; testers and mirrors hold the service table. Because the frames are open, staff can read the whole wall at a glance and fill gaps fast.

Materials hold the white-gold scheme: white marble back panels and floor, brushed gold stainless-steel frames and shelf edges, gloss-white lacquer on the tables and plinths, and soft grey upholstery. Lighting is mostly architectural — recessed spots and ceiling track wash each bay — with slim LED strips picking out the shelf edges, so the gold reads warm against the white.

Delivery followed the factory route in 2024: frames welded and polished, marble panels cut, plinths turned and sprayed before packing. The unit fitted out in a single visit. Sample in seven to ten days, production in thirty to forty-five, shipped from Guangzhou.
