Project Overview

A gemstone display program delivered in China in 2018: one store of roughly one hundred to one hundred forty square metres, dressed in emerald green and champagne gold, built for a retailer selling jade pieces and coloured bead strings together. The brief asked for a room that could carry both trades at once — formal jade under glass, and a self-serve bead wall where customers build their own strings. Every unit shipped from our Guangzhou workshop.

The plan runs an arc-shaped entry counter into a U-shaped island, with wall runs closing three sides. The counters share one signature: deep-green fluted casework — vertical reeds routed into the panels — finished with champagne-gold trim at the base and under every glass hood. At the back, a feature wall in green marble carries three lit niche windows for one-off pieces, and a row of pavilion-shaped pendant lights hangs over the island, their cages in white acrylic over brass-tone frames.

Merchandising splits by trade. Jade bangles and pendants sit under the island glass on ivory liners, one or two per position. The bead wall runs floor to ceiling on the right: coloured stone strings hung in ranks, so customers pull, match and re-string — a bead display case in effect, holding hundreds of pieces in plain view. Ring and earring trays take the wall runs, and the three niche windows at the back each hold a single carving under its own light.

Materials hold the scheme throughout: fluted emerald panels on every base, champagne-gold metal frames and trims, ivory stone decks, low-iron glass, grey polished stone floors. Each gemstone display box in the niches sits on a black stone plinth against green marble. Case lighting runs at 4000K against a 3000K room, with the pendant cages kept decorative.

Delivery ran the factory route: fluted panels routed and sprayed in the workshop, marble bedded, cages wired and hung on test. The store fitted out in a single visit in 2018. Sample in seven to ten days, production in thirty to forty-five, shipped KD or fully assembled from Guangzhou.
