Phone Store Fixtures

A phone store fixtures package delivered for a carrier retail unit in the United States, over an estimated 80 to 130 square metres. The design brief was deliberately quiet: the fixtures should hold a very wide accessory range and a rotating handset line without competing with either, so the palette stays at three materials — light oak, grey and white.

The wall runs on a repeatable module. Oak frames divide the wall into bays; inside each bay sits a grey slatwall panel with adjustable shelves and hooks, and below it a matt white base cabinet that keeps wiring and bulk stock out of sight. Every bay carries a graphic lightbox at the head, but the panels are interchangeable, so the wall can be re-skinned when a manufacturer changes its campaign.

Display tables, not counters, hold the handsets on the sales floor. Oak-topped tables on slim metal frames present boxed devices face-up with a lockable white storage base under each one, which means staff can restock a full table without walking to a back room. The checkout counter is a separate white unit with a full-width brand header, positioned so the queue never crosses the browsing path.

The same oak-and-grey module repeats on every wall, which keeps the store looking built rather than assembled, and makes a mid-life refit a matter of swapping panels rather than rebuilding bays. Lighting is flat and even across the walls, with warm accent only inside the lightboxes.

Production followed the standard factory sequence: approved drawings before cutting, a pre-production sample in seven to ten days, custom casework in thirty to forty-five days, then KD flat-pack or assembled shipping from Guangzhou, with spare parts and reorder support after handover.
